Tax Services & Consultants, Inc. a member of the Better Business Bureau, consists of tax professionals who specialize in representing you before the Internal Revenue Service or State Tax Agencies in any audit or collection tax matter. David Cohen, JD, EA, is a lawyer and President/founder in 2001 of Tax Services & Consultants, Inc., located in Greensboro, NC, and is an expert in the complex and ever-changing arena of tax law. Dave is a graduate of Temple University School of Law in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, and is a retired I.R.S. Attorney, licensed in N.J. and in the Federal Courts, such as the U.S. Tax Court, U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is also a past Adjunct Professor of Law at Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C.
While with the IRS from 1970 to 2000, Dave, a member of the Examination Division, additionally served as an Examination Division Group Manager and a District Conferee in Greensboro, NC. During this time Dave also worked extensively as a classroom instructor for the IRS, as well as an On-the- Job Instructor for new Examination personnel.
Dave is the recipient of the U.S. Dept. of the Treasury Gallatin Award for his thirty years of public service. Dave is a member of the National Association of Tax Professionals, the Society of Financial Service Professionals, the National and N.C. Society of Enrolled Agents, and the Better Business Bureau, among many other organizations. Dave’s hobbies include the collection of ancient roman coins and Alfa Romeo cars, and he is an avid Carolina Panthers football fan.
As a tax professional with many years of tax experience, Dave specializes in representing individuals and businesses with the resolution of their state or federal, audit or collection, tax issues.
Emily Lewis Ball, EA, is a federally licensed tax practioner with over 13 years of experience providing tax preparation and electronic filing services. She served more than 10 years operating multiple tax offices and training tax preparers and managers. She has also taught many courses on basic and complex income tax laws. Additionally, her experience includes starting a business and maximizing its growth through expansions consisting of mergers and acquisitions. She was also responsible for developing policies and procedures and implementing best practices for the company.
Emily graduated from Midlands Technical College of Columbia, SC with an Associate's Degree in Business Administration & Management. In 2007, she was licensed by the IRS as an Enrolled Agent to represent taxpayers before the IRS in the resolution of their federal and state audit and collection tax issues. Emily also provides additional services to businesses as a QuickBooks and Business Management Consultant.
Emily is a member of the National Association and North Carolina Society of Enrolled Agents.
